151st Diocesan Convention of Long Island

Friday & Saturday, November 10th & 11th, 2017
Melville Marriott Long Island, Melville, NY

The annual diocesan convention is the ultimate organizational decision-making body comprised of clergy and lay members. Convention meets annually for two days in November. 

Each year, representatives from around our diocese gather to review and discuss issues, policies and structures.

Worship Schedule Change

The church is moving in the direction of having one (1) service at 10:00 am on Sundays.  Sunday School will be held at 10:00 am, the children will depart for Sunday School after the Children's Homily, as is the custom; they will return during the Offertory.  Adult Bible Study will be from 9:00 - 9:45 am.

A Service of Lenten Lessons & Carols

Meditations on the Passion of Christ in Carols, Hymns, Readings & Holy Scripture on Sunday, March 26th at 10:00 am. 

Many carols associated with Advent and Christmas contain Passion imagery and take on new meaning when sung in a Lenten Service.  Particularly effective near the beginning of the service are carols, which make a connection between Christ's incarnatoin and his passion.

 
 

Men Standing Strong in Faith

Men's Day, Sunday, September 24th at the 10:00 am service.  Theme:  Men Standing Strong in Faith  1 Corinthins 16:13-4 "Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.  Let all that you do be done in love."  Guest speaker, The Rev. Pre-Convention Meetings 2017

​Pre-Convention meetings are an opportunity for clergy, lay delegates, alternates, youth delegates, and all intersted persons to meet with Bishop Provenzano and diocesan staff to discuss business coming before Convention.
